India Bans Hikvision, Dahua, TP-Link CCTV Sales

India has officially banned the sale of Chinese CCTV brands Hikvision, Dahua, and TP-Link from April 1, 2026. The move is driven by new cybersecurity rules requiring Standardization Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) approval, which these companies have failed to obtain. Existing cameras will continue to work, but new sales are blocked. As India is strongly trying to go vocal for local and trying to invent its own models of electronics and other devices to drive the economy to buy bits of its own country and the export of these goods from other countries, India moves to decline Chinese CCTV sales, which aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing and reduce reliance on Chinese imports in sensitive sectors like surveillance. This move will take place from April 1st to April 30th and will stop the distribution of these catches in the market. People who are using it will have issues with it, but future sales will be stopped.  And it will also make domestic manufacturers and g...

WhatsApp 's is new feature "Guest Chats."

According to reports, WhatsApp is creating a new feature called Guest Chats that would let users chat individuals without a WhatsApp account. According to reports, the feature allows direct browser contact with non-WhatsApp users by means of a secure chat link. Using the "Invite a Friend" feature, a WhatsApp user can create a link and distribute it by email, SMS, or other channels. The recipient has two options: download WhatsApp or use a browser to continue as a guest. Visitors must accept WhatsApp's Terms of Service and provide a name, either real or a false name.  The inviter's phone number is visible to guests, but conversations are encrypted from beginning to end. The lack of guest verification of identity, however, presents a risk in the event that the connection is viewed by unauthorized individuals. "Guest" is clearly shown during chats to show...

Try these solutions if you can't remember your phone's password

It frequently occurs that we switch out the long-used smartphone password for a different one. However, we are unable to recall the new password and continue to enter the old, allegedly incorrect one. In any case, this becomes a major problem, and individuals seek to have their passwords cracked at a store or phone store. Also, the store owners demand payment for cracking the password. On one hand, you may simply change the password while at home if you'd like. What should we do about this? Use " Forgot Password " First, try entering the incorrect password or pattern five or six times if your phone is running Android 4.4 or lower. The choices of Forgot Pattern or Password will then show up on the screen. Enter your Google Account details now, then change the password. Use this approach if it's connected to a Google account. Go to findmydevice.google.com from a different device, such as a laptop or another phone, if your Android phone is connected to your Google...

New Aadhaar App Update Enhances Security and Accessibility

To boost user privacy and give users more choice over the personal information they share, UIDAI introduces a new " Selective Share " option. This update provides a timely solution to worries about naturally data exposure as digital identity verification becomes more common in hotels, workplaces, and residential complexes. During an identity verification procedure, "Selective Share" enables Aadhaar holders to select which particular facts they wish to provide. Users can now share only the information that is necessary rather than the entire Aadhaar profile , which normally contains the Aadhaar number , date of birth, address, and other sensitive information. For example, if a hotel simply needs your name and photos, you can limit sharing to only those areas. The software generates a secure QR code or a digital certificate reflecting only the data you’ve selected. This lowers the possibility of fraud and stops businesses from gathering more data than is required...

WhatsApp Broadcasts Are Broken

Previously, WhatsApp broadcasts were a lifeline for small businesses and entrepreneurs. However, in 2025, they are displaying significant flaws: communications frequently go unnoticed, end up in spam folders , and provide no analytics. Even worse, it is practically hard to track engagement or customize outreach due to WhatsApp's broadcast constraints and lack of segmentation . What's Not Working: Broadcasts limit visibility because they only reach people who have saved your number. Performance is estimated because there are no read or delivery statistics. No means of audience segmentation or message customization. Astute Substitutes: Telegram Channels : Rich media, polls, and limitless subscribers. Excellent for community updates and announcements. Email newsletters : Automation , segmentation, and analytics are provided by platforms such as Mailchimp and ConvertKit . Instagram Broadcast Channels : With integrated engagement capabilities, these channels are perfect for produc...

Is Your Smartphone Spying on You?

Even though it might not be secretly recording your conversations, your smartphone is undoubtedly gathering more information than you may think. Modern smartphones are built to collect behavioral data , including your location, browser preferences , voice commands, and app usage. The majority of free apps share user data with advertisers and analytics companies. Siri and Google Assistant are examples of voice assistants that use passive listening , which means they are constantly on the lookout for trigger words . Although this isn't outright monitoring, improper permission management leaves room for misuse. According to studies, even when they are not necessary for their operation, more than 90% of apps ask for access to private information like your GPS, microphone, and camera. Regularly check app permissions to safeguard your privacy. Turn off the microphone and camera for any apps that don't require them. Turn off voice assistant functions while not in use and think ab...

Sharp Rise in Cyber Fraud cases in India

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs , India lost an astounding ₹22,845.73 crore in 2024 alone as a result of cyber scams , a 206% increase from the year before. National websites officially documented over 36 lakh financial fraud instances , and fraud-fighting measures prevented over ₹5,489 crore from ending up in criminal hands by freezing cash and blocking millions of suspect SIM cards . The outdated strategy of harsh warnings and bullet-point "dos and don'ts" is no longer effective when criminals are changing so quickly. At that point, NSDL and SEBI made the decision to enlist Bollywood as their own hero. Four parodies of famous Bollywood scenes from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara , 3 Idiots , Gully Boy , and Chak De India have been released by NSDL. These are well constructed stories, not just jokes for chuckles. This program represents a significant advancement in financial literacy . Viewers are also taking in the caution. This type of innovation is much neede...

No PIN required for UPI!!

A major upgrade is loading in UPI , which will change the method of payment. Earlier, only a numeric PIN was required to authorize any transaction, but now, from October 8 , users can use their face and fingerprint instead of a numeric PIN. This new authentication is powered by Aadhar data , which is approved to make transactions faster, easier, and more secure across the country. As Aadhaar already stores our fingerprint, iris scans , and facial data , which will now be used in UPI, now when a user makes a payment, they will have to approve by scanning their face or fingerprint through supporting devices. There is no rule that you cannot do transactions from a numeric PIN. But this new method will add a layer of security to the system. The Reserve Bank of India announced a new rule of payment that adds two-factor authentication (2FA) beyond the SMS-based one-time password , which will come into effect from April 1 .  SOURCE: THETATVAINDIA

Are We Losing Empathy in the Age of Reels?

I saw a post regarding an accident on Instagram . I cried, then I scrolled. You have probably come across the statement and have felt it too, but wait a second, are we talking about an incident or accident or crisis or breakup that took place? And what's next? Are you seeing any trending reels on Instagram ? That might not make sense, but we wipe our emotions, then we swipe, like, react, and move on. The reel may be like an AI-generated dog dancing to a trending audio with perfect moves. But in all this space, are we still feeling something for something bad happening or just consuming? Empathy is a feeling about connecting with someone and understanding their feelings without any judgment, full stop. That makes us human beings. But in this age of technology and social media , we have forgotten our emotions and often try to connect with the world and show zero feelings toward any incident. We may stand for the incident for a few weeks, but significantly, we lose our attention to...

Responsibility of Reporting in a Misinformation Age

As the era of delivering everything in a snap of second has made life in a urgent situation to be handled. Where the role of the responsible reporter is not just to present half truth or misinformation or any manipulated views to the public but it's about delivering facts and necessary voices and news that empower citizen voices. In a age were breaking news breaks every minute it's becoming very difficult to identify and verify that information whether it is true or false. Misinformation refers to miss leading content that is spread intentionally or unintentionally through social or digital or traditional media. It is a fact based report by the Reuters Institute that 64% of the news consumed by the world is false or miss leading news either it is presented online or in traditional media methods. Technology changing friendship

Technology has developed and redefined how we communicate, connect and maintain friendship . But sooner or later we realize that we have been distance from our friendships and how we spend the time when we were talking face to face or on a call. Firstly how we use to plan a meeting or a picnic to meet someone or our friend and have a gossip or play games or do things we desire. Things I have changed and have taken a digital shift firstly meetings physically to messaging apps to video calls and now only to messages. We believe that technology help us take connected but they have made a distance in our friendship and we are not able to realize the emotions and feelings we shared.  When we are connected on a digital platform we tend to get distracted more and we forget the importance of messages that a friends have send. Now we stick on social media where pictures posted by other members are just left to replies or likes or some other comments. Till now date there are no friendshi...
