The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has made it mandatory for all newly manufactured or imported mobile phones in India to come with the Sanchar Saathi app pre-installed. Sanchar Saathi is a government-developed mobile application designed to make smartphone use safer for everyone. The objective behind Sanchar Saathi is to give citizens more control over their digital safety. The app seeks to shield users against fraud and reduce misuse of mobile services.

Sanchar Saathi must be pre-installed on all new smartphones sold in the nation, according to a recent government directive. Thus, every new device will automatically come with the app already installed.
The decision was decided because incidences of phone theft, cyber fraud, and the use of fake or cloned smartphones have been increasing. Financial scams and phishing calls also affect a lot of people. With Sanchar Saathi available on every smartphone, people can immediately report such difficulties and get support. The directive also aims to facilitate the use of stolen phones on mobile networks by authorities. In order to prevent the phone from being misused, the software notifies telecom carriers immediately when a user reports their device as missing.

Users of new cellphones don't need to download anything. the app will already be installed on the device at the time of purchase. It will seem like any other system app on the home screen. The software can be downloaded via app stores for users with older phones. Once installed, users can access the app and log in with their mobile number. To help stop scams, the app also offers ways to report fraudulent calls or dangerous URLs.

Indian Railways Unveils New Ticketing Rules: Easier Boarding, Fairer Refunds

As part of Indian Railways' duty to undertake 52 reforms in 52 weeks, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has proposed five significant initiatives. No More Cash at Toll Booths Starting April 10
