Dr. Prabhleen Kaur, a young internal medicine specialist from Chandigarh, made headlines after resigning from a reputed hospital on her very first day.
In a video shared on Instagram, she revealed that the hospital’s owner, a senior gynecologist, instructed staff to admit nearly every patient, regardless of whether hospitalization was necessary. She alleged that the hospital only wanted a physician “in name,” while the owner personally managed cases, deciding that all admitted patients should be kept in the ICU for as long as possible.
Dr. Kaur explained that although the hospital offered attractive pay, she was disturbed by these instructions and refused to be part of what she described as unethical practices. “It would have been my name, but their wrongdoing,” she said, adding that she could not allow herself to be used as a front. Her video, captioned with a warning about karma, has garnered over 96,000 views and earned widespread praise from netizens for her principled stand on medical ethics.
