Beyond the Game: The Philosophy of Playing Cards

We usually play cards during Diwali as part of the after-party celebrations, but these cards hold meaning far beyond festive fun. They’re often played across various occasions and carry symbolic depth. Each number represents something valuable, and every suit, symbol, and figure echo element of nature, time, and human experience. Playing cards aren’t just entertainment—they’re reflections of life itself. Think playing cards are just for games? Think again. A standard deck of 52 cards is a miniature calendar—52 cards for 52 weeks, 4 suits for the seasons, and 12 face cards for the months. Add the Jokers , and you’ve got 365 days. Even the colors tell a story: red for day, black for night. Each card holds meaning. The 2 represents Earth and Sky, 3 the holy trinity, 4 the Vedas , 5 life energy , and the Ace stands for human wisdom. Fun fact: the sum of all card values equals 364—add the Joker, and it completes the year. Cards aren’t just shuffled—they’re symbolic. SOURCE:  nebres...

Knot of love- Happy Raksha Bandhan

Happy Raksha Bandhan A  day when sisters tie a knot of love, unity, care, togetherness, and protection and many other secret vows. This festival is celebrated and cherished in India with a lot of significance and values that are imbued when sisters tie those sacred threads. It is a festival that is celebrated between brother and sister, and at least one day goes by without a fight or a fight that is much fueled. The official meaning of Raksha Bandhan is to tie a knot of protection—protection of being a partner in crime, always saying yes to no, letting them commit mistakes, enjoying life without restrictions, roaming freely, scoldings, judgement, care, love, and much more that goes with the flow. Yes, in the modern era its concept has changed; now people send Rakhi by courier, and more than these vows and protection, it has officially become a festival where we loot our brother in terms of money, not with motives, just for an emotion and feeling that feels like a right, and the c...

KARGIL VIJAY DIVAS 2025

A proud moment for every Indian when we celebrate Kargil Vijay Divas . The sacrifices and blood of the soldiers will always be remembered and cherished for their bravery. In 1999, when India was battling with summer heat strokes, our soldiers in the Himalayas were fighting in unforgiving temperatures, with less oxygen, rolling plains, and spiky deserts. Silent movement turned into alarming situations. Indian patrols, trudging through thin air in Batalik , Dras, and Kaksar , stumbled upon intruders entrenched deep within Indian territory. The Pakistani troops already settled with the planned move and started attacking India. It was a betrayal made starker by the recent Lahore Declaration , a pledge for peace that now lay in tatters. There were full efforts made by Indian troops to regain the land that was violated by Pakistanis. Every climb was the moment of success and bravery to win. Many young males in their 20s were holding rifles and ready to serve their lives for ...
