ATM rules changing from 1st April

Starting April 1st, several major banks in India are updating their ATM rules to align with the new financial year. Previously, these were treated separately. Customers get 5 free transactions at HDFC ATMs and 3 (in metro cities) or 5 (in non-metro cities) at other bank ATMs. Exceeding the limit will incur a ₹23 fee per transaction, excluding taxes. Punjab National Bank (PNB) has revised daily withdrawal limits for certain debit cards. Depending on the card type, customers can now withdraw between ₹50,000 and ₹75,000 per day. Some cards that previously allowed ₹100,000 have had their limits reduced. Jio Payments Bank is introducing a new QR-based cash withdrawal method. Try these solutions if you can't remember your phone's password

It frequently occurs that we switch out the long-used smartphone password for a different one. However, we are unable to recall the new password and continue to enter the old, allegedly incorrect one. In any case, this becomes a major problem, and individuals seek to have their passwords cracked at a store or phone store. Also, the store owners demand payment for cracking the password. On one hand, you may simply change the password while at home if you'd like. What should we do about this? Use " Forgot Password " First, try entering the incorrect password or pattern five or six times if your phone is running Android 4.4 or lower. The choices of Forgot Pattern or Password will then show up on the screen. Enter your Google Account details now, then change the password. Use this approach if it's connected to a Google account. Go to findmydevice.google.com from a different device, such as a laptop or another phone, if your Android phone is connected to your Google...

Why Some Women Grow Beard-Like Facial Hair

Some women develop beard-like facial hair due to a condition called hirsutism , which is often linked to hormonal imbalances, genetics, or underlying medical issues.   Why Women Grow Beard-Like Facial Hair Facial hair growth in women, especially coarse and dark hair on the chin, upper lip, or jawline, is medically referred to as hirsutism . The primary driver behind this condition is androgen hormones , such as testosterone, which are typically present in higher levels in men. When women produce excess androgens or their hair follicles become more sensitive to these hormones, fine vellus hair can transform into thicker, pigmented terminal hair. Key Causes Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): One of the most common reasons, PCOS disrupts hormone balance and often leads to excess androgen production. Genetics : Women from certain ethnic backgrounds, such as Mediterranean or South Asian, may naturally have more facial and body hair. Hormonal Disorders : Conditions affecting the...

Soya vs Paneer: Which Makes the Better Snack?

When choosing a protein-rich vegetarian snack, the debate often boils down to soya chunks vs paneer . Both are staples in Indian kitchens, but they serve different nutritional and lifestyle needs. Soya chunks pack a punch with over 50g of protein per 100g , making them ideal for muscle building and weight management. They’re low in fat , budget-friendly , and easy to season, offering a chewy texture that absorbs flavors well. For calorie-conscious eaters or those on a high-protein diet, soya is a clear winner. Paneer , on the other hand, delivers around 18–20g of protein per 100g , but comes with higher fat content , especially if made from full-cream milk. It’s rich, creamy, and satisfying—perfect for those needing slow-digesting energy or looking to gain weight. Paneer also offers calcium and healthy fats, making it a wholesome choice for growing children or active adults. Ultimately, the better snack depends on your goals. Choose soya for lean protein and calorie control , and pan...

Will the US Stay a Dominant Power?

As 2026 unfolds, the question of whether the United States will continue to be the world’s dominant power is central to global debate. Economically, the U.S. is projected to be the fastest-growing advanced economy , driven by resilient growth, IT leadership, and fiscal stimulus . Lower interest rates and energy prices further strengthen its position. This economic resilience ensures that the U.S. remains a hub for innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence and technology , which are increasingly shaping global influence. On the geopolitical front, however, the landscape is more complex. Alliances hold, diplomacy persists, but power is more contested than before . Rising competition from China , regional instability , and unpredictable geopolitics mean the U.S. must constantly adapt to maintain leadership. While authority is exercised, it is no longer absolute—global influence is shared and negotiated. Ultimately, the U.S. is likely to remain a dominant but not unchallenged...

Why Lumpsum Investment in Mutual Funds Can Be a Smart Move

While SIPs (Systematic Investment Plans) are popular for their disciplined approach, lumpsum investing —where you invest a large amount at once—can be equally powerful, especially for long-term goals. 🚀 Immediate Market Exposure Unlike SIPs that stagger investments over time, lumpsum investing puts your entire amount to work from day one . This means you benefit from any market uptrend immediately, maximizing growth potential. 📈 Power of Compounding The earlier your money is invested, the longer it compounds. Lumpsum investments allow full capital to grow uninterrupted , which can result in significantly higher returns over time—especially in bullish markets. 🧠 Simplicity and Convenience One-time investing is less hassle —no monthly tracking or transfers. It’s ideal for investors who receive bonuses, inheritances, or have idle funds waiting to be deployed. 🕰️ Best for Long-Term Goals If your investment horizon is 5+ years and you’re confident about market conditions, lumpsum invest...

New Aadhaar App Update Enhances Security and Accessibility

To boost user privacy and give users more choice over the personal information they share, UIDAI introduces a new " Selective Share " option. This update provides a timely solution to worries about naturally data exposure as digital identity verification becomes more common in hotels, workplaces, and residential complexes. During an identity verification procedure, "Selective Share" enables Aadhaar holders to select which particular facts they wish to provide. Users can now share only the information that is necessary rather than the entire Aadhaar profile , which normally contains the Aadhaar number , date of birth, address, and other sensitive information. For example, if a hotel simply needs your name and photos, you can limit sharing to only those areas. The software generates a secure QR code or a digital certificate reflecting only the data you’ve selected. This lowers the possibility of fraud and stops businesses from gathering more data than is required...

Is Your Smartphone Spying on You?

Even though it might not be secretly recording your conversations, your smartphone is undoubtedly gathering more information than you may think. Modern smartphones are built to collect behavioral data , including your location, browser preferences , voice commands, and app usage. The majority of free apps share user data with advertisers and analytics companies. Siri and Google Assistant are examples of voice assistants that use passive listening , which means they are constantly on the lookout for trigger words . Although this isn't outright monitoring, improper permission management leaves room for misuse. According to studies, even when they are not necessary for their operation, more than 90% of apps ask for access to private information like your GPS, microphone, and camera. Regularly check app permissions to safeguard your privacy. Turn off the microphone and camera for any apps that don't require them. Turn off voice assistant functions while not in use and think ab...

Beyond the Game: The Philosophy of Playing Cards

We usually play cards during Diwali as part of the after-party celebrations, but these cards hold meaning far beyond festive fun. They’re often played across various occasions and carry symbolic depth. Each number represents something valuable, and every suit, symbol, and figure echo element of nature, time, and human experience. Playing cards aren’t just entertainment—they’re reflections of life itself. Think playing cards are just for games? Think again. A standard deck of 52 cards is a miniature calendar—52 cards for 52 weeks, 4 suits for the seasons, and 12 face cards for the months. Add the Jokers , and you’ve got 365 days. Even the colors tell a story: red for day, black for night. Each card holds meaning. The 2 represents Earth and Sky, 3 the holy trinity, 4 the Vedas , 5 life energy , and the Ace stands for human wisdom. Fun fact: the sum of all card values equals 364—add the Joker, and it completes the year. Cards aren’t just shuffled—they’re symbolic. SOURCE:  nebres...

No PIN required for UPI!!

A major upgrade is loading in UPI , which will change the method of payment. Earlier, only a numeric PIN was required to authorize any transaction, but now, from October 8 , users can use their face and fingerprint instead of a numeric PIN. This new authentication is powered by Aadhar data , which is approved to make transactions faster, easier, and more secure across the country. As Aadhaar already stores our fingerprint, iris scans , and facial data , which will now be used in UPI, now when a user makes a payment, they will have to approve by scanning their face or fingerprint through supporting devices. There is no rule that you cannot do transactions from a numeric PIN. But this new method will add a layer of security to the system. The Reserve Bank of India announced a new rule of payment that adds two-factor authentication (2FA) beyond the SMS-based one-time password , which will come into effect from April 1 .  SOURCE: THETATVAINDIA

Why Wells are Circular?

For centuries, wells have served as a crucial source of water. From ancient civilizations to modern communities, people have relied on wells to meet their daily water requirements. These structures are built in homes, farms, and even public spaces for easy access to underground water. When we think of a well, the first image that comes to mind is typically a round or circular shape. It is likely that you have observed that nearly all the wells you have encountered possess a circular form. Whether it is a contemporary water-drawing well or a traditional hand-dug well in a rural setting, the shape remains largely consistent. Wells generally adhere to this design, despite the fact that many structures can be constructed in various shapes. Here are five reasons, encompassing both scientific and historical perspectives, that explain the preference for circular wells. 1. Strength and Pressure Distribution : The pressure from water and soil surrounding circular wells is evenly distributed....
