Counting Freedom - 79th Independence Day

India, on August 15, 2025, celebrated its 79th Independence Day under the aura of renewed pride, looking back at a year rich in spectacular achievements in defense, economy, and technology. Standing at the historic Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the valor of the heroes of Operation Sindoor for their services in protecting the land's sovereignty. He called upon the citizens, more particularly the youth and influencers, to join hands for “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” and dreamed of a growth story of “Viksit Bharat” by 2047, which nurtures self-reliance, innovation, and inclusive growth.

Economically, a landmark event has been the upgrade of India's sovereign rating to BBB by S\&P Global for the fiscal discipline, policy predictability, and ever-growing investor confidence. This development not merely prides India on its global financial platform but in itself means that the country is now seen as having long-term sustainable growth potential.

A crowning highlight of the year came from space: Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla made history as the first Indian to visit the International Space Station (ISS) via the Axiom-4 mission in June 2025. Launching aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon and spending fourteen days conducting experiments in microgravity, Shukla marked India's reentry into orbital human spaceflight after 41 years.

In technology, PM Modi has announced that, for the first time in national history, Made-in-India semiconductor chips will find their way into the market by the end of 2025, alongside operational chip manufacturing plants. This would reduce import dependence, augment digital sovereignty, and bolster India's place in the global tech supply chain.

Another unforgettable feature of the celebrations was the awe-inspiring flyover above the Red Fort, under which the Tiranga and Operation Sindoor banners broke the sky as symbols of unity, courage, and progress.

This Independence Day became the reminder that the freedoms achieved in 1947 are the foundation of every success India enjoys today. The freedom for innovation, the democracy to empower every voice, and the sovereignty to protect our ambitions. In 2025, India became the way of remembering its past as well as stepping forward towards a future bound in resilience, unity, and unyielding progress.

Doctor Resigns on First Day Over Unethical Hospital Practices

Dr. Prabhleen Kaur, a young internal medicine specialist from Chandigarh, made headlines after resigning from a reputed hospital on her very first day.  In a video shared on Instagram, she revealed that the hospital’s owner, a senior gynecologist, instructed staff to admit nearly every patient, regardless of whether hospitalization was necessary. She alleged that the hospital only wanted a physician “in name,” while the owner personally managed cases, deciding that all admitted patients should be kept in the ICU for as long as possible.  Dr. Kaur explained that although the hospital offered attractive pay, she was disturbed by these instructions and refused to be part of what she described as unethical practices. “It would have been my name, but their wrongdoing,” she said, adding that she could not allow herself to be used as a front. Her video, captioned with a warning about karma, has garnered over 96,000 views and earned widespread praise from netizens for her principled s...

Try these solutions if you can't remember your phone's password

It frequently occurs that we switch out the long-used smartphone password for a different one. However, we are unable to recall the new password and continue to enter the old, allegedly incorrect one. In any case, this becomes a major problem, and individuals seek to have their passwords cracked at a store or phone store. Also, the store owners demand payment for cracking the password. On one hand, you may simply change the password while at home if you'd like. What should we do about this? Use " Forgot Password " First, try entering the incorrect password or pattern five or six times if your phone is running Android 4.4 or lower. The choices of Forgot Pattern or Password will then show up on the screen. Enter your Google Account details now, then change the password. Use this approach if it's connected to a Google account. Go to findmydevice.google.com from a different device, such as a laptop or another phone, if your Android phone is connected to your Google...

No More Cash at Toll Booths Starting April 10

Following a government announcement requiring a totally digital tolling system, cash payments at toll booths on India's national highways would no longer be accepted as of April 10.  In an effort to lessen traffic, increase transparency, and improve commuter convenience at more than 1,150 fee plazas across the country, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) revealed that all transactions will now be completed through FASTag and UPI. It is anticipated that the change will improve operating efficiency, reduce delays, and optimize traffic flow. Toll rates have been updated in tandem with this change.  Expressway fees in Uttar Pradesh would increase by 1.5% to 3.5%, while passenger car owners on national highways may experience an increase of up to 10%. For example, the toll for cars on the Lucknow–Agra Expressway has increased to ₹675, while the toll for two-wheelers is now ₹335. The current fees on the Gorakhpur Link Expressway are ₹295 for four-wheelers and ₹145 for tw...
