According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, India lost an astounding ₹22,845.73 crore in 2024 alone as a result of cyber scams, a 206% increase from the year before. National websites officially documented over 36 lakh financial fraud instances, and fraud-fighting measures prevented over ₹5,489 crore from ending up in criminal hands by freezing cash and blocking millions of suspect SIM cards.
The outdated strategy of harsh warnings and bullet-point "dos and don'ts" is no longer effective when criminals are changing so quickly. At that point, NSDL and SEBI made the decision to enlist Bollywood as their own hero. Four parodies of famous Bollywood scenes from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, 3 Idiots, Gully Boy, and Chak De India have been released by NSDL. These are well constructed stories, not just jokes for chuckles. This program represents a significant advancement in financial literacy. Viewers are also taking in the caution. This type of innovation is much needed, as the losses from cyber fraud have skyrocketed to ₹22,845 crore in only one year, and scams now cost lakhs of rupees every month. It's a brave step to transform great movies into financial lessons in a world where frauds are developing more quickly than laws. Bollywood may offer happy endings, but in reality, scams inflict trauma, and nobody should be a part of it.
