A lot of people believe that Google Maps becomes useless while it is offline, but in reality, the program features a built-in feature that is meant for just these situations. Press Download after selecting your own map and zooming in or out to cover the area you want to visit. The map becomes available even without Wi-Fi or mobile data. According to Google, offline map will still offer turn-by-turn driving directions, but won't display updates on public transportation, alternate routes, or traffic conditions.

Offline maps are very useful when you travel to locations with weak networks. Imagine isolated towns, mountainous regions, busy marketplaces, or subterranean parking lots where signals naturally weaken. When you travel overseas, they also assist you in conserving cellphone data. You can use your pre-downloaded map for the duration of your journey without having to pay for roaming or purchase temporary data packs. Reliability is an additional benefit. Your phone's GPS chip continues to function even if the internet shifts in the middle of the trip. As long as the map is downloaded, Google Maps can properly follow your steps because GPS does not rely on mobile data.

Indian Railways Unveils New Ticketing Rules: Easier Boarding, Fairer Refunds

As part of Indian Railways' duty to undertake 52 reforms in 52 weeks, Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has proposed five significant initiatives. The modifications include construction quality, salt and vehicle transportation, boarding rules, and ticket cancellation and refunds. Passengers who cancel their tickets more than 72 hours before to departure will only be charged a flat minimum fee under the new ticketing rules. 25% of the ticket will be removed if the cancellation is made between 72 and 24 hours prior to departure. No More Cash at Toll Booths Starting April 10

Following a government announcement requiring a totally digital tolling system, cash payments at toll booths on India's national highways would no longer be accepted as of April 10.
