25 September 2025 marks the 11th anniversary of "Made in India," launched by PM Modi in 2014. This initiative has transformed India into a global manufacturing powerhouse. Piyush Goyal, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, has transformed the landscape of massive investment and job creation across multiple sectors through the PLI (production-linked incentive) scheme.
This initiative was innovated to build India's economic growth and development. It was mainly launched to change India into a global hub for design and manufacturing, and these vocal-for-local initiatives were also the driving path. In 11 years, Made in India transformed India into a global manufacturing hub. Smartphone production surged 5x, defense exports reached 90+ countries, and MSMEs expanded globally. We look forward to the next chapter, which is about deeper innovation, stronger sustainability, and even greater global collaboration.
Made in India 2.0 is a bold upgrade to India’s manufacturing vision, focusing on global competitiveness, sustainability, and advanced technology. It empowers MSMEs to scale internationally, boosts sectors like electronics, defense, toys, and clean energy, and promotes high-quality exports. With ₹12.5 lakh crore output via PLI, 9 lakh new jobs, and record defense exports, it’s transforming India into a global hub. The initiative also strengthens infrastructure, simplifies regulations, and invests in future-ready skills. From chips to ships, Made in India 2.0 is driving innovation, self-reliance, and inclusive growth for a resilient, future-facing economy.
